I am an experienced Chartered Civil Engineer with over 14 years of practical experience in the construction industry. My current position is Senior Planning Engineer at China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Ltd., where I am in charge of planning and scheduling the Port Access Elevated Highway Project. This high-profile project necessitates meticulous coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure that project milestones are met on time. I manage project timelines and resources using advanced planning software, ensuring that each phase of the project runs smoothly and efficiently.
Previously, I worked as the Site Manager for Vonlan Constructions (Pvt) Ltd., where I oversaw the Proposed Construction of Substation Grid B Project-CEB Colombo from 2019-2023. In this position, I oversaw site operations, supervised construction activities to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and communicated with clients, contractors, and government officials. My ability to streamline project progress through effective communication and coordination was critical to completing the project successfully.
Prior to that, I worked as a Planning Engineer at China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd., where I was responsible for the Southern Expressway Project- Section 4 Extension from 2017 to 2019. From 2014 to 2017, I worked as a Site Engineer for Shapoorji Pallonji Lanka Pvt Ltd., overseeing the construction of a high-rise residential building in Colombo. This role entailed ensuring that design specifications and construction standards were followed, as well as coordinating with subcontractors to efficiently manage daily site activities. In 2013, I joined Nawaloka Construction Pvt Ltd. as a Civil Engineer, where I oversaw the construction of an eight-story building at the National Cancer Institute in Maharagama =. My responsibilities included monitoring project progress, making necessary adjustments, and adhering to strict quality control and safety protocols. This role helped me improve my project management skills and reinforced my commitment to delivering high-quality results. In addition, from 2012 to 2013, I oversaw the rehabilitation of the Kandy Secretariat Building, including the renovation of its sewer network, while working for the National Housing Development Authority.
Beginning my career at Sanken Construction Pvt Ltd. in 2011, I worked on the construction of a hotel project that included 60 rooms, a main building, three room blocks, a swimming pool and ramps. This initial experience laid a solid foundation for civil engineering and project management.
